When I was a sophomore in college…

I struggled with knowing for sure if writing was the right career choice—if it shouldn’t just stay a hobby and I pursue something more “practical” instead. However, it was while reading the words of a theologian (whose name I no longer remember) that it struck me: writing is my calling.

To create is to step into a divine vocation. We have the same spark of creativity that called forth the universe from the void, that separated the waters from the land, that created humanity in sacred image. With this in mind, work grounded in creativity is one of the most natural and important things we can do with our lives.

I’ve had people help me on my career journey as a creative. People who have championed me, read my work, edited my words, shared my content, and reminded me that creative work is real work, and to keep going. In recent years, I’ve returned that help to friends, colleagues, and strangers because I truly believe that those of us who have been called to create cannot compromise that call—we have to run after it full force.

I offer my services to help other creatives on their wonderful, winding career paths. I want to nurture stories and bring them forth, play with words until they speak in your voice, and build online presences that cannot be ignored.
